What is K.E.E.P.E.R.S. poetry club all about?

The KEEPERS poetry club at Bravo Medical Magnet High School began as a small passion project by founding members in 2019. The KEEPERS acronym decided upon in that same year was created to define the aspects of the club that were deemed most important to keep in mind with the intentions we continuously put forth in our poetry. Kind, Energetic, Engaging, Positive, Empowering, Revolutionary, Student poetry club. The club has gone from a small group of students sharing poetry in a classroom during lunch- to a team that hosts public poetry events for the community and has competed in (and won!) the largest youth poetry slam in LA; all while still sharing poetry amongst themselves in a classroom during lunch. As the years have gone by, we have continuously pushed our members to pursue every aspect of the KEEPERS acronym. The KEEPERS of past and present have dedicated an incredible amount of effort into building the club to be greater with every passing year.
